A civil wedding ceremony in Bali is usually performed after religious wedding ceremony. The civil wedding ceremony is an option for couples, who have been legally married in their country of origin country or everywhere in the world, but wish to obtain the civil wedding certificate from Indonesia’s Civil Registrant office in Bali. Meaning, if you prefer to conduct only the civil wedding ceremony, you are not required to perform any religious wedding ceremony but you should submit your marriage certificate issued by the ministry of religion.
A civil wedding ceremony is held or conducted by an officer from the office of Civil Registrants. Some requirements should be fulfilled before conducting a civil wedding in Indonesia. A CNI fee should be paid to conduct a civil wedding in Indonesia, as fee of wedding application to your embassy. Documents which are required:
- Copy of passports
- Copy of birth certificates
- Copy of decree absolute if you have been marred before
- Copy certificate of marriage from ministry of religion
- A widower must present a copy of the death certificate for a former spouse
- Fill in the booking form, wedding arrangement form and civil form
- 4 photographs sized 4cm x 6cm (groom on the right side)
- Letter of No Impediment to marriage which has been legalised by representative embassy or consulate in Bali/ Indonesia, certifying that the couple has no objection to getting married in Indonesia.
