renewal of vows

A renewal of vows ceremony is simply a reminder of the initial commitment a couple first made to each other. After many years of marriage, sometimes the wedding vows can be re-declared by couples choosing to convey their deepest emotions and to celebrate the spirit of love. Although there is not legal certificate issued following the ceremony, the couple will receive a letter of notification from the Celebrant. To conduct a renewal of vows ceremony, the couples only needs to submit the copy of their respective passports as the ceremony is not a legal one.

This type of ceremony does not involve a Government Registrar and can be performed to honour the anniversary of the original date of marriage. A commemorative certificate will be issued following the renewal of vows ceremony. The island of Bali offers many exquisite venues to host a renewal of vows ceremony including on the beach or in a romantic chapel, tropical garden, restaurant, private villa or hotel resort. Usually, the renewal of vows ceremony continues with a second honeymoon.
